High-Gain and Broadband Antenna using Microstrip Microstrip Combined with the Waveguide Antenna

ABSTRACT

This paper presents the design of high gain and broadband waveguide antenna which is fed by using a microstrip antenna is at 2.33 to 5.24 GHz. A feeding network is broadband microstrip antenna to improve the directive gain. The proposed antenna can be fabricated on conventional low-cost materials by using FR4 and aluminum plate and the high gain and wideband performance are achieved with gain up to 8.79 dB. The simulated and measured impedance bandwidths of the broadband waveguide antenna are 76.88% for IS11I< 10 dB. The discrepancy between simulation and measurement is analyzed.
